Objetivos
To teach or not to teach, that is the question!
A new approach to the teaching of Literature in a bilingual context
¿Por qué hacer este curso?
Literature is the finest expression of language. A great number of students attending bilingual education already possess the required linguistic level which allows them to enter without difficulty the literary field.
Why would they be excluded from enjoying, learning and reading at the same time great works from great writers?.
Reading helps students to acquire new vocabulary, to improve their knowledge of language, to open their minds to real life, to learn strategies to exercise their critical thinking and to extend this learning to the rest of skills… among other pursuits.
This course will help teachers to update their literary knowledge and to learn useful strategies to develop students’ reading and literary skills.
Useful and practical examples of how English teachers can use a varied selection of unabridged texts from different genres with students as a way to learn and enjoy will also be explored.
